From March 29 to July 15 in the Perm State Art Gallery you can visit an exhibition called “…And the world will open to you” – Naïve Realism of Perm Krai from the 17th Century to the Present. The exposition presents the works of masters of naive realism from museums and private collections of Perm and Perm Krai and also the works which have been directly received from its authors. There are works in the “lybok” genre, otherwise known as “national picture”.
“Lybok” is a type of art to which clarity and capacity of an image is peculiar. A popular print is also called a national picture and is connected with the painted graphic representation which has been spread around in print. Quite often the popular print had decorative appointment.
It is necessary to read each inscription, considering all details to understand the meaning which is conceived in a picture. In works of modern artists this new, unexpected aspect opens on the past of Perm Krai and its nature.
